MacDrive 7 Solved My Problem November 1, 2008 MacDrive 7 did exactly what I needed it to do. In 1996 I changed jobs and went from using a Mac Powerbook to a Windows environment. I recently found that I needed to access one of my old Mac files, a MSWord document stored on a Mac formatted Iomega Zip Drive. I have a USB Zip Drive, but my Vista computer won't recognize the Mac formatted disk. MacDrive 7 allowed me to read the old Zip drive and transfer all the old Mac files to a folder on my Vista machine's hard drive. MS Word 2002 opened the old Mac formatted file flawlessly. Problem Solved.
I Wish I Could Go Lower September 14, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this on the off chance I would ever see another Mac disk (it's been years). Given the business I'm in (publishing) there's always a chance a client may for some reason want a Mac. I did the install, but it wouldn't activate, saying the server could not be reached. Given that I had installed Dragon before it and the latest Acrobat after it, the problem wasn't on my end. This went on -- punctuated by uninstalls and reinstalls -- for several days, until I finally called the manufacturer, who gave me an activation code. Guess what? It STILL wouldn't activate! Even yet another uninstall and install did no good. I can only assume this software is so sloppily written that the disk it comes on is good for only three things: as a coaster, frisbee or clay pigeon. It should be zero stars, for what good is a program that won't install?
Yea Just like Everyone Says July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yea, no if and's or but's about it - in that world of VMWear (as I am) you NEED this product.... I was all ready to get rid of VMWear (and between you and me, I still might - really just buy a Windows laptop and save your self some headaches) but, with MacDrive 7 things are a thousand (even a million) times better... (but I still might just get a Windows Laptop)...
Good Product but only works for one computer May 3, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This easily installed program makes it simple for a PC to read files on a Mac formatted external hard drive. It works fine. However, it can be installed on just one computer. If you want to install on a second computer, contact MediaFour. They will sell you additional licenses for $10 each.
MacDrive Worth the Cost April 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It does what it is supposed to do, connect a PC to a Mac drive. Easy install, discovered the drive, made it available to my PC apps.
