I bought Version 2.0 (2005) in anticipation of getting rid of an old PC. You put the CD in the bay, and it boots up in Linux from the CD, but it would get to an uncompress step and try to find something in my empty 3.5 diskette drive and just hang. Their only response was "we no longer support that version, but you can have 30% off our new version" Yo jerks, that sucks. Do not support this company. Looks like my drive will get the old hammer treatment.

I have used this product to wipe my drive completely clean on a computer I gave to a friend. I found out that the format C: command does not wipe everything off your hard drive. That's when I looked for a relevant product for my needs. It's affordable and works fine. It also meets high standards for cleanup, so I was confident that any data would not be recovered.

My husband and I just got done donating two desktop PCs and a laptop to charity. We used this software to wipe the hard drives clean. Now we know no one will have access to info we don't want them to see.
