Product Description FileKeeper Pro is a breakthrough in desktop and laptop data protection and recovery. FileKeeper's ?set it and forget it? approach replaces inconsistent and unreliable backup solutions that require knowledge and maintenance of complex interfaces, schedules and media management. It continuously monitors and protects your valuable data by transparently protecting files every time the file is saved to disk. The original baseline file plus subsequent versions are stored in safe locations such as portable storage devices. Recovery of any previous version is very easy using FileKeeper Pro's right-click menu access within Windows Explorer. FileKeeper Pro protects data transparently and works within the context you are familiar with. No need for special training, knowledge of new terms, maintenance of backup schedules, or management of tapes. FileKeeper Pro allows you to quickly select and easily protect documents that are important to you. No need to know where the document is stored or updated. Once configured, FileKeeper Pro will continuously protect new and existing documents every time they are saved to disk. FileKeeper's integration with Windows Explorer means you no longer need to learn a new user interface, search through Backup Sets or load different tapes to your recover documents. FileKeeper Pro's Search and Recover allows you to enter what you do know about the document and it will present a list of all documents matching that criteria.

Deceptive product description August 3, 2008 The descripton of the product sounded like I could retrieve files from a bad drive. Not so. You have to install this product on a healty drive and allow it to back up files to (wait for it) another drive. Hey genius, I can already do that all by myself. Their tech support would not allow me to return this turd-ware. It's $30, how petty of them.
File recovery software has been difficult to find. I guess civilians have to pay the big bucks to data recovery companies.
My final sugestion. Get an external drive or a pile of DVD media and Back up, Back up, Back up.
