Not As Easy As 1-2-3 As On CD. November 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The software installed easy. The programming kept appearing to freeze or snag up. Didn't create a desktop link. The screensaver maker-does other things like creates other formats such as videos or slideshows as well-has a listing of different interesting themes. Picking pictures and music was pretty easy.
The program was a bit confusing at what it was doing or requesting, especially in it's filing. I had trouble with the instructions, and didn't find this program to be user friendly. I somewhat liked the transitions, but could not figure out how to adjust that. The transitions seemed a bit busy in more tones of red.
The saved screensavers I made installed and uninstalled easily, but was confusing in the filing once again. Each screensaver wanted to file separately in program files, even though the main file name was the same-and kept arguing with me over placement.
When previewing the screensaver the saver would lock in. 'Escape' button would not work or in the moving of the mouse as with normal savers. I figured out that clicking on the screen with the cursur downed it, and the cursur stayed visible while the screensaver previewed.
I installed two of the screensavers I created, and when I tried to preview in Display the screensavers - both - would not launch. They would not launch when set either. I suspect an antivirus/firewall issue, but am not certain why it would not like the saver program. I could not figure out how to correct the problem, and decided to uninstall everything.
The software says, and seemed, compatable with my Window's XP, but acted peculiar as if it might not if that makes sense.
I wrote to inquire about requesting a refund and/or to return the product. I'm waiting to hear back.
I would not trust enough to give this or send a created saver to someone due to my having such trouble with it.
I found this program to be confusing and not user friendly, and I have moderate computer experience. The program does not seem to be created from a company, but more so from an individual. (Contains family photos from someone)
It uninstalled ok for me, but appeared to freeze or snag up once again - and not clear as to what it was doing. The uninstall feature in my created screensavers was much clearer as far as install/uninstall in what it was doing.
Ok price for the software. It didn't cause any problems for my computer which is always good.
I'm disappointed in this product, but it might work better with someone with stronger computer skills.
